Overview

Take the road less travelled as you cycle through the rural villages and majestic countryside of Rajasthan - Discover the rich history and architecture of forts and Palaces in some iconic strongholds. -Search for wildlife in the jungle of Ranthambhore National Park, the best place to see wild tigers in Rajasthan -Relive the legacy of the Rajput warriors by spending a night in a 16th century castle, which is now a family-run hotel surrounded by graceful forests of Flame of the forest & Jaracanda.

Itinerary

1
Day 1: Arrival in Delhi
Namaste, there shall be a group meeting today at 6 pm to meet your fellow travellers and trip leaders. You’ll also meet your cycling crew and get fitted out for your bike.

Day 2: Tour of New Delhi
Early in the morning, we ride to New Delhi and visit some iconic spots. This is also to make the user better acquainted to his/ her bike. Later in the day, we shall drive to the Pink city and reach our accommodation in time.

Day 3: Jaipur Tour
We have an early morning ride with some interesting stops to see how the Pink city wakes up. A chai stop is a must and then we’ll be riding back to the hotel for Breakfast. The best of Jaipur is yet to be seen, and we shall visit the Amber Fort, set atop a hill overlooking Maota Lake. The fort is a superb example of Rajput architecture. You will also have the option to visit the Royal City Palace and/or one of the five astronomical observatories built by the founder of Jaipur - Maharaja Jai Singh. Optional ride to the Tiger fort will be worth it’s effort, with some rewarding views.

Day 4: Jaipur to Pushkar
After breakfast, we depart from Jaipur by our support car/ coach and dismount the vehicle to enjoy a ride to the sacred city of Pushkar. On the way, we shall pass ruins and stop by a Fort to get pictures. Upon reaching Pushkar in the evening, we can walk around the town, pass the holy Pushkar Lake where pilgrims come to cleanse themselves of sins and disease by bathing along the lake’s 52 ghats. As the most important temple of its kind, head to Brahma Mandir - one of India’s few temples dedicated to the Hindu creator-god Brahma, the main street of the town is a bustling tourist market and well worth a visit if you want to stock up on souvenirs.

Day 5: Pushkar to Udaipur
Wake up for a wonderful – riding day. We start the day with cycling for 60 km approx and drive the rest of the way to the ‘White City’ of Udaipur. Also known as the ‘Venice of the East’, Udaipur is often regarded as the most romantic city in India. Set amid the Aravalli Hills, the city curls around Lake Pichola, the two palaces of Jag Mandir and Jag Nivas, rising out of the water in their own reflections. Later in the evening, enjoy a beautiful boat ride and watch the sunset from either of the many rooftop restaurants of Udaipur.

Day 6: Exploring Udaipur
After an early morning ride around the biggest lake of the city. Spend the day touring the sights of Udaipur with the group. Wind through narrow streets to the City Palace complex on the banks of Lake Pichola, which is the largest palace in Rajasthan. Pop into the impressive Jagdish Temple, dedicated to the Lord Vishnu. Make a visit to the evening show at - Bagore ki Haveli for an enthralling dance performance by the locals.

Day 7: Udaipur to Chittorgarh
We drive for 2 hours to the start point of the ride, which is within 40 kms of our accommodation, we ride through the Chittorgarh countryside to Pangarh Lake - spending the night sleeping in a comfortable permanent tent camp. Upon arrival, unwind with a cup of chai while watching the sunset over the lake and the serene Vindhya Range. Enjoy a view of the 15th-century Pangarh Fort, perched atop a hill to the north side of the lake. If interested, one could go for an early morning hike to the top of the ruined Fort or even enjoy an evening boat ride in the lake by our campsite.

Day 8: Explore the village of Bijaipur near Chittorgarh
This morning, we leave the campsite and cycle through farmland to the village of Bijaipur. On the way, one gets to witness - local rural life in action and depending on the season, opium poppy fields in harvest. In Bijaipur, our stay is in the 16th-century Castle Bijaipur, which is now a - heritage hotel, within its original fortified walls. Enjoy the palace’s blend of colonial and Mughal architecture as you relax by the pool or in the gardens, pampered by the Mewar hospitality of the hotel’s owners.

Day 9: Chittorgarh to Ranthambore
We ride early morning after quick tea and snacks. Today’s ride is in the beautiful countryside for about 20 kms, and then we hop onto our support car / coach for a long drive to the jungle – to the Ranthambhore National Park. Once a hunting ground for the Maharajas of Jaipur, today it’s a major wildlife park and the best place in Rajasthan to see tigers in the wild. We will reach Ranthambhore by late afternoon, so there is enough time to rest and recharge for an early start the following day, for a tiger safari.

Day 10: Enjoy Jungle Safari in Ranthambore
Embark on a safari before dawn, in search of leopards, wild boar, hyenas, nilgai, birds and of course - tigers. Deep in the park is - the Ranthambhore Fort. Founded in 944 AD, few buildings have survived the ravages of war and time, but the ruins of Badal Mahal and Hammirs Court pavilions hint at its previous grandeur. In the late afternoon, explore a different sector of the park via 4WD to increase the chance of tiger sightings.

Day 11: Ranthambore to Jaipur
Drive back to the capital, which will bring us to an end to this adventure.

Physical Fitness

Even though this is not an exhaustive trip, it is necessary to be physically fit and active to appreciate the experience that this Tour has to offer. The ride is open to all amateur and seasoned cycling enthusiasts who are physically fit to endure and enjoy riding in the countryside and highways. There shall be mostly flat tarmac roads and gravel in the deep countryside. We recommend riders to be physically fit to endure and enjoy the riding days.

This Tour includes eight days of riding on flat roads with a bit of hill climbing on one of the days. The riding distance for each day varies as per conditions and weather.

Terrain/ Biking Conditions

This Tour is on dirt and tarmac roads and at one point there is a bit of a hill climb. It is mostly in the rural parts and highways in the countryside. A support vehicle will accompany the group to support, carry luggage and in cases of - exhaustion, fatigue, or injury, shall carry the participant/ rider. Roads are well made at majority of the locations and a mix of tarmac and gravel.

Accommodation

Accommodation is included in all destinations as per the itinerary, if arriving early or staying extra at the end of Tour, let us know if you need suggestions. Most of the hotels we use are Family-run and Local, with quality in service while adhering to Covid-19 guidelines.

Trip cost is on ‘double-sharing’ and 'twin-sharing'. Single supplement is available at extra cost. (Please do inform us in advance)

Food

Packed Lunch, Refreshments and Water will be provided when riding. Any special dietary requirements, please let us know at the time of booking.

Drink

As our initiative towards Responsible and Sustainable Travel, we will be providing filtered/ purified water during the trip to reduce usage of plastic. Water shall be provided to all participants when riding to prevent excessive use of plastic. Soft drinks and other beverages during meals are not included. Beer and alcohol are available only at certain destinations, but NOT included in the price.

Bikes

Any Spares, Replacements, Overhauls on personal bike is not included in the cost. In cases of excessive bike/ component repair, the participant shall bear the cost.

Packed Lunch/Lunch in a Local restaurant, Fruits and Water will be provided when riding.

Please let us know any special dietary requirements at the time of booking.

Bike Repairs

Basic spares and tools are carried by the Cycle Technician, though we cannot guarantee having spares for every conceivable problem. Carrying a basic tool kit, a spare tube, and a pump while riding is recommended. (Extra Spares cost as per actual for BYOB).

Safety

NO HELMET NO RIDE - Wearing a helmet is required on all our Biking Adventures and is non-negotiable. If you do not wear a helmet you will not be allowed to cycle. Your Team Leader is trained in First Aid and Emergency Rescue, but to a large degree you must be responsible for your own safety while riding.

NOTE: Participant may bring own pedals, padded - saddle covers, or other fittings/ accessories that can be attached to the bike.

Team Leader

You will be led by a local Cycle tour guide otherwise known as your Team Leader, and in cases of larger groups we will add another Leader to the Tour. All our Team Leaders are well informed in the regions you will be passing, along with prior experience of leading Cycle Tours.

Essential spares and tools are carried by the Cycle Technician, though we cannot guarantee to have spares for every conceivable problem.

COVID-19

As per regulations, all our Accommodation and Equipment shall be sanitized and checked in advance to ensure a safe environment. Wherever meals available, they would be prepared with care and in a hygienic manner. However, it is advisable to be Responsible of your own Health and Safety and carry a sanitizer along.

Cancellation policy

The Bike Tribe reserves the right to make modifications/ changes in the retreat program and accommodations as is deemed necessary. We also reserve the right to cancel any Tour. In the unlikely event of a cancellation, you may opt to transfer to Tour or receive a full refund of the money you have paid.

The Bike Tribe is not responsible for any consequential expenses or damages incurred because of any cancellation, not limited to costs spent in preparation.

Cancellation must be made through the corresponding email – [email protected] or [email protected] ONLY; otherwise, no cancellation will be entertained.

Cancellations will not be accepted over the phone. Only written cancellation notices (email) will be received for authentication purposes.

In case of any increase in the cost of Hotel, Transport, govt. Tax, fuel, etc., we are bound to augment the same. Any Booking will be tentative unless you pay in advance and book on a guaranteed basis.
The Bike Tribe will not be responsible for any (additional) charges incurred after cancellations/ amendments without confirmation from our side.

The refund will be made via bank transfer or depending on the original purchase method. Additionally, although The Bike Tribe will instruct the bank to handle the crediting process immediately upon notification of cancellation, it could take 2-3 weeks for the actual crediting to occur, which may differ as per your Bank’s practice.

In case of transferring a trip to a friend, they should satisfy all the mandatory requirements put forward by The Bike Tribe. TBT holds the right to change/ cancel the policies without prior notice.

Gratitude

While gratuities for essential services that you will receive as part of your Tour package, from local specialist guides to drivers, bike technician and the crew who will take care of you onboard, are included as part of your Tour cost, the voyage fare does not include the customary, gratuity for your Cycle/ Team Leaders. While it may not be customary for you, it is of great significance to the people who will care for you during your travels. It inspires excellent service and is an entrenched feature of the tourism industry across many destinations.
